By the time I was 19 years old, I had moved over 30 times. Many people assume that I grew up in a military family, however, while I did marry into one, I had no military ties as a child. My family and I were missionaries and as a result, my childhood was quite a crazy one. I have lived in Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua and also spent time in Guatemala. From translating for triage in Rio Chuelo, Guatemala, to caring for infant children in Matagalpa, Nicaragua, my childhood was--to say the least--nontraditional.

Flash forward to today: As a result of my childhood, I am ingraned with a passion for people and service to them. Throughout my time at UNC Charlotte I have had the opportunity to fulfill these passions through community service. I served on Panhellenic Council as the Vice President of Community Service and Philanthropy and I was able to raise money for the Circle of Sisterhood. I also have been able to volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Charlotte, NC.

UNC Charlotte has taught me many important skills to prepare me to pursue a career in the Public Relations field. Attending a CEPR Certified university has been challenging and rewarding. I have completed courses in Crisis Communication, Rhetorical Theory, PR Writing, PR Strategy, and Journalism courses as well. I have also continued to sharpen my knowledge of the Spanish language through pursuing a minor in this field.

While my education and my community service are important things to know about me, I'd love to tell you some other things that you wont find on my resume. I love spending time with my husband, Samuel, and my great danes, Ecko and Zulu. Ecko is only a year and a half and he is pushing 160 pounds! Zulu is only five months she still has a lot of growing to do. Samuel and I have been married for two years--the first of which was spent apart. Samuel was deployed to the Middle East only a few months after our wedding. Some of our favorite things to do together involve making music, practicing our Spanish together, and trying new foods. I love having a teammate to encourage and motivate me. As I write, he edits. As I sing, he plays.

Everything I do in life I do with passion and dedication. If you decide to pursue me for a role, I will bring that same passion and dedication to my position at your organization. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I can't wait to also get to know you!
